Wachati Princess was a love interest for Ace Ventura in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, and was portrayed by Sophie Okonedo.

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls[]

The Princess is the daughter of the Wachati Chief and the sister of Prince Ouda, with her being the focal point of being the bride in an arranged marriage that will bring peace between her tribe and the rival tribe of the Wachootoos. Though initially accepting her fate, the princess was internally very displeased by this arrangement, as she was dissatisfied with being used as a pawn for a greater goal. However, when Ace Ventura enters the scene to help her tribe find the sacred white bat, Shikaka, she sees him as a possible outlet for her unresolved feelings. She is very upfront with her attraction to him from the onset, as she does the rare "Virgin Dance of Seduction" on Ace to entice him. The princess planned on having sex with Ace once they were alone together, giving the excuse of never pleasing a man in her life, and wanting to practice on Ace before her she is married. Ace rebuffs her, saying he is a celibate man and does not part take in the pleasures of the flesh. She once again tried seducing him by removing her shawl to reveal her breasts to him, but Ace backed down from her offer once again, yet complimented her on how nice they looked. Ace is later seen immediately regretting turning her down, as he is masturbating to a skirt, likely to belong to the princess until he is interrupted by Fulton. It is indicated however that Ventura did eventually take her virginity, as during the end of the movie, he took her offer of "practice" before she was married. This angered her new husband Tiny Warrior during their wedding night, and Ace was subsequently chased out of the jungle by the two tribes for his role in disrupting the marriage.

 Conquest Appeal[]

Okonedo plays an innocent princess, who is placed into an arranged marriage. She wears a red top, blue skirt, and other ornaments, which exposes her belly and partly her breasts. Due to her circumstances, she wants to have sex and a relationship with Ace, and tries to seduce him. The reason she claims, is that she wants to be loved, before being forced to love another man. She wears a lose shawl in the seduction scene, so that she could easily take it off when she and Ace made love. But, she is turned down by Ace, due to his celibacy of peace, dismaying her greatly. She does however later have sex with him, evidenced by the discovery of her not being a virgin due to his involvement.

Trivia[]

  • She is shown to have deep lust towards Ace, but it is unclear if it is due to an actual attraction or wanting to escape her marriage (likely the latter).
    • It's also implied the reason Ace tried to initially refuse sex with the Princess, is because of his feelings for Melissa
  • It is unknown if she stayed married Tiny Warrior, after Ace was chased out by the village, as she was deflowered by him and the implication indicates that she is now undesirable to the Wachaties and the Wachootoos.
  • In casting the role, both the Director Steve Oedekerk and Jim Carrey wanted someone who could convey both the beauty and the innocence that the role required. While the studio and producers wanted a more established actress, Sophie Okonedo impressed both Oedekerk and Carrey so much that they demanded she be cast.
