Near the climax of the first film, while at the Superbowl, Melissa and Emilo learn that Einhorn has label Ace both the murderer of Podracter and kidnapper of Snowflake and Marino. Ace Jr. exposes Quinton's father, Mr. Pennington, for stealing his classmates' pets and the famous animals, which they're found hidden in his home. Humiliated, he confesses that he did this to please Quinton Jr. and that he is fed up with his son's spoiled brat behavior. Melissa is exonerated and Mr. Pennington is arrested for his crimes.

After Ace Jr. is rewarded for his efforts, Melissa finally divulges the truth in what happened to his father, Ace. After rescuing endangered animals, he was on his way back in transporting them to a wildlife reserve when the plane disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle. Since then, he hasn't been seen and heard from.

Trivia[]

  • During preliminary discussions for When Nature Calls, Courtney Cox was considered to reprise her role. She was open to returning as long as it did not conflict with her busy schedule on the hit show Friends. However, it became steadily clear that the character of Melissa bogged down the story’s pace, and consequently the character was dropped from the second film.
  • In a deleted scene, after having sex with Ace, Melissa was supposed to have a scene of her examining Ace's apartment and talking to Ace's monkey, Spike. The deleted scene has never been recovered, and only a production still of Courtney Cox wearing Ace's iconic shirt remains of it.

After the love making there was supposed to be a dialogue about mating, wild animal energy, heterosexuality, hormones. There were supposed to be jokes about the beast with two backs. Also as Melissa was saying oh my god, Ace was still supposed to have his face in Melissa's chest. But they needed it stay PG-13.

After the love making scene, there were supposed to be more jokes and refrences to mating, fluid exchanging, lots of heterosexual jokes, and the credits were supposed to show them back in Ace's bed, just louder and more upclose but they needed it to stay theater friendly.

In the original script Melissa's character was supposed to Candi, or Kati, or Christi, and she was described as a young blonde with big breasts and the original script called for 3 different love scenes. Ace was supposed to be teaching her more, she was supposed to be uneducated and only hired by the dolphines because she was one of the owner's daughter.
